The National Spelling Bee: How come there were only two Americans in the spelling bee this year?

I was watching the spelling bee yesterday and I couldn't believe there were only two Americans in the bee everyone else was from India. What's wrong with our students? Why aren't American students excelling at the spelling bee?The National Spelling Bee: How come there were only two Americans in the spelling bee this year?
Because America is going to the Gold star system. No one cares how dumb you are, they just don't want to stunt you socially.

The Kids who participated in the ';Spelling Bee'; are all Americans. They were all born there, but majority of them are East Indian descent. I believe that most of them are smart, and love participating in the spelling bee, They work so hard preparing for that big day.
Maybe those were the only Americans who felt like taking part in it? It's not the Olympics. There doesn't have to be a large group of people from every nation on Earth. How many Europeans did you see in there?





As for excelling in it, I don't think that would be too hard to do. The words they use are actually very easy. Then again, they're middle school words.
Who is to say that the people from india were not AMERICANS. People come here and get their CITIZENSHIP. What are Americans, I guess that is the real question, and the spelling bee young lady is an american citizen, just like you.
Indians have been going nuts over the Spelling Bee and start training for it as soon as they are born, so that they can win the scholarship award. Americans are not that desperate.
Schools don't teach spelling any more. And there is no social status in being able to spell. Even secretaries no longer need to be able to spell, just to make sure that the boss is using the right homonym.
Because we know how to use spell check.Some of the smartest people cant cross the road by them self's.Just because you cant spell hippopotamus (spell check)doesn't make you a complete idiot you know.lol
