Let me tell you bout the birds and the bees.....?

my kids are 6+7 i have no idea how to explain the ...';how did the baby get in your tummy'; question and ';how did dady help make the baby'; any suggestions?Let me tell you bout the birds and the bees.....?
You can say that Daddy put his love for Mommy in her belly. Then it mixed up with her love, and that created a baby that is growing out of love.

You could be more literal-- but that would open up a whole other can of worms.Let me tell you bout the birds and the bees.....?
It's up to you -- you might just tell them that when Mommies and Daddies love each other very much, sometimes a Daddy will give a Mommy a very special hug, and he will plant a seed in the Mommy's tummy that grows into a baby. If you are one of those parents that believes in using the appropriate words for everything, you can use all the correct terminology instead of saying ';very special hug';. It's really up to you to decide what works with your parenting style and how much your kids can understand at this point.
Go to images.google.com %26amp; search for diagrams of the male %26amp; female anatomy, especially, obviously, the reproductive system.

Then, explain it all to them. It's just simple human biology %26amp; that's what they want to know right now - 'how does that happen?', 'how does it work?'.

So, women have ovaries that have tiny, one-cell (you need a microscope to see them) eggs in them. About once a month, an egg travels down to the womb, to wait to see if it's going to become a baby.

Men make sperm in their testicles, that comes out of their penis. The sperm are one cell big, too.

If a sperm gets into the womb %26amp; goes inside of the egg, then a baby starts growing!

Get a copy of Nova's 'Miracle of Life' video from your local library. Just watching that will leave them fascinated %26amp; amazed by the human body! http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/miracle/
Be honest with them and tell them the truth. My mom told me if you stick your hand in the washer the blades will cut it and I believed it going into adulthood. Made me feel like an idiot.

But in all honesty I would tell them the truth about how it really happens and make sure you tell them what you want them to know as far as marriage being involved and vice versa. and also express to them that it's not something you share with everyone. Not all parents are honest with their kids... This might be a good time to discuss good touch bad touch too... Just throwing that out there... there are lots of great books available, check out your local library too!
dint tell them until they go through puberty
